Evaluation and Imaging of the Patellofemoral Joint

Patellofemoral pain syndrome is an enigmatic entity, with multiple causes resulting in diverse presentations requiring variable treatments. Specific and accurate diagnosis of the etiology, based on physical exam and imaging, is essential to creating an effective therapeutic approach for successful return to function. This article presents a systematic and comprehensive exam strategy and highlights the relevant radiologic findings.
